Part of this account was passed down by word of mouth.
Bryant, as reported, has the Myeni begin in northern KwaZulu-Natal and move north into the Lubombo, splitting into a section under Mpande's patronage near Tshaneni and a section that stayed at Ngwavuma. Mayendlela Myeni was a 1986 narrator. Hlubi is said to have grown up at Vuma in the present Myeni chiefdom. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.
