Kuper, as reported, places the Mndzebele among those who reached southern Eswatini at about the same time as the royal Ngwane and relates them to the Hlophe. LaMndzebele (LaKubheka, also called LaMelusi), daughter of Kubheka Mndzebele, is recorded by Matsebula as the wife of Ngwane and mother of Ndvungunye; Lobamba in the south was her residence.
