About This Record

What Was Written Down

Stayt places Tshisebe, second son of Vele Lambeho, at Makonde. Luonde says Tshisevhe acted as king after Thohoyandou vanished, refused to step down, was defeated and killed by Munzhedzi Mpofu, and that his son Ravhura fled to Makonde. Wikipedia (citing Loubser) calls the Ravhura the successors of the Singo of Dzata whose kingship was taken by the Ramabulana, after which they were absorbed among the Tshivhase and Mphaphuli. One tradition recorded by E. Mudau (per Wikipedia) has Dimbanyika dividing the realm among Ravhura, Mandiwana, Munzhedzi, Tshivhase and Thohoyandou. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.
