About This Record
What Was Written Down
Stayt lists Netshiavho among the Vhatavhatsinde petty chiefs, first settled at Khalavha and then at Lake Fundudzi. Magoma cites a personal communication from Chief Netshiavha about the lake's python and describes the custodian of the lake reporting sightings of half-human beings there. Netshisaulu speaks of the Vhaṱavhatsindi of Tshiavha as elephant-totem people; that gloss is not applied to Netshiavha specifically here because no source read does so. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.
