About This Record
What Was Written Down
Skhosana relays Van Warmelo's account: the Hwaduba are Musi's direct descendants who stayed near KwaMnyamana, moved to the Apies River and Wonderboompoort, suffered under Mzilikazi in the time of chief Pete, and returned to Khwadubeng near Hammanskraal, where by 1880-90 only the oldest people still used Ndebele; today they speak a Kgatla type of Tswana. Wikipedia and iAfrika give the modern surname as Lekhuleni. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.

If Your Family Holds More Of This
A family saying its own iinanazelo / iibongo knows them better than any directory does. If yours has more than what is on this page, it belongs here.
